Pair of French Palissy Ware majolica oval plates from the 19th century. The center of the plates are occupied by naturalistically modelled lizards and frogs all resting on a bed of leaves and shells. Great color and fantastic trompe l'oeil detail. These plates could be hung on the wall or displayed in a kitchen or library.
